Challenges
1 . High Friction in At-Home Fecal Testing Experiences
At-home fecal testing creates psychological and logistical friction that often leads to user drop-off. The challenge was to minimize discomfort and streamline the end-to-end testing experience.
2. Low Conversion From Analysis Results to User Action
Many users stopped at viewing results without taking follow-up action. The challenge was to guide users from analysis to personalized probiotic purchase and sustained engagement.
3. Low User Understanding and Trust in Microbiome Health Insights
The challenge was to turn complex microbiome data into insights that consumers could easily understand, trust, and act on, while increasing awareness of microbiome health.
Outcomes

Designing a Low-Friction At-Home Fecal Testing Experience Through End-to-End Digital and CRM Integration
Reduced psychological and logistical barriers and increased service participation by designing a seamless, end-to-end testing experience accessible via mobile web—from kit registration and home pickup scheduling to progress tracking and result access—while leveraging CRM communications to guide users through each service stage and improve understanding and completion.

Closed-Loop Experience Design to Turn Analysis Results Into User Action
I strengthened the post-analysis journey to increase re-testing rates and drive conversion from microbiome analysis results to personalized probiotic purchase. To support sustained engagement, I designed CRM-driven communications reinforcing the value of ongoing microbiome management and introduced targeted discounts on probiotics and test kits to encourage repeat testing.
In addition, I launched pre-enrollment for tailored probiotic subscriptions during the analysis waiting period, using subscription benefits and promotional incentives to reduce drop-off and maintain engagement.

Expanding Microbiome Awareness Through Education and Campaigns
To increase awareness in microbiome health—and to reduce perceived barriers around fecal testing—I led education-driven initiatives including solution ambassador interviews, real-user testimonial videos, and expert-led educational content. I also developed educational communications linking microbiome health to diverse health needs, positioning it as a foundation of long-term health management.
In addition, I launched a collaborative campaign with a youth growth solution, 'Growing Lab', to emphasize the importance of microbiome health during key developmental stages.
